It’s been quite a while since I’ve last blogged about this year. Its been more than a month. I swear I’m knitting but sadly not any socks lately. My time has been filled with commissioned knitting and bunch of other stuff. I did say that High School would be taking a nice huge chunk out of my knitting time. However it does not stop me from knitting. Knitting lately has been a way to knit my frustrations away.
Recently my iPod touch, cell phone, and wallet were stolen from my locked locker. They didn’t find the SOB who took it but luckily I have an amazing set of parents who replaced my wallet and bought me a new iPod touch (the one with the camera!). My cell phone is on it’s way from the phone insurance company and should be here any day now. Another event happened that also effected my daily life… About a week ago my parents were in car accident. Thank God they’re alright. They spun out and hit the center divider and flipped four times. My dad came out with no scratches and my mom came out with just a bruise and some minor cuts. It was really miracle that they weren’t seriously injured.
In other news here is the current state of the Moth Orchid Shawl.
Sorry about it being squished together! It’s huge and hard to take a picture of it.
And I cast on a hat last week out of Cascade 220 on U.S. 7’s or 4.5mm.
Then for my favorite Barista at Starbucks. A pair of Fetching Fingerless Gloves.

Yeah I know, red does not photograph well. But anyways the yarn is Berroco Comfort on U.S. 5 or 3.75mm.
I hope to knit more on the Diamonds and Cables sock but for now this what you get. Hope didn’t bore you to death, just wanted you to know what’s been going in my life lately if anyone cares.
Until next time Keep Knitting, and Knit On!
Sorry about posting late today! The day got away from me. Last night I had a friend call me, and she commissioned me to knit her a shawl. I agreed. This is the current state of the project.

It is the Moth Orchid shawl. You can find it hear at elann.com. It’s a free pattern, I chose to do this shawl because the bottom edge of the shawl has nupps! I am using U.S. size 6 (4.0mm) needles, and 2 1/4 skiens of Malabrigo lace in the Mariposa colorway.
Also look at what I finished yesterday!

It looks nice doesn’t it? I cast on the toe of the second sock last night but it has been put aside for a short while so that I could cast on for the Moth Orchid. I am going to tell you readers that my knitting time while be cut back a lot. This is due to the fact that I am a high school student and my winter break is coming to an end. I am sad that it is almost over but excited! My 15th birthday is coming up in a little more than a week and I have no idea what I am doing to be honest.
Oh and also before you couldn’t post any comments on the tumblr, but I’ve fixed it so that you can. So please leave a comment telling me what you like or dislike about the blog. Also leave comments on things that I could improve, I am very new to the blog scene so I am trying to do my best :)!
Happy Knitting until next time
Sunday morning I finished working on The Rosebud socks. It’s only one sock because it’s a display for my local yarn shop. But I’m still counting it as a pair!

And last night i cast on for The Diamonds and Cables socks. They’re coming out good, don’t ya think?

I’m using size 0’s or 2.0mm for the entire body of the sock. The yarn I am using is Regia Color in color way 5047. I have to skiens and I intend on using them. They are going to be U.S. women’s size 8.5 (or at least around there). I will being gifting them to my friend Tori. They are currently in the process of getting a heel flap. Hopefully the first sock will be done by tonight. Please leave comments, questions, criticisms and concerns. I am trying to do my best to make this blog work.
Happy Knitting
Hello everyone. My name is Alejandro I am a teenage male knitter from Southern California. I have made a new year’s knitting resolution to knit as many pairs as possible from Wendy D. Johnson’s Toe-Up Socks For Everybody. I have already completed 2 different pairs of socks from this book and I am counting those as 2 down only 20 more to go! I am currently working on a display sock of the rosebud socks. That will also count as a pair. You are all welcome to knit along with me as I knit my way through this Year and book!
